Danielle Hudson Laughlin
Managing Attorney Danielle Hudson Laughlin is a zealous advocate for her clients.
She grew up in Columbus, Georgia and obtained her bachelor's degree in philosophy from Georgia State University. After college, Mrs. Laughlin worked for a global real estate firm representing investors and business owners in large commercial and industrial transactions as a licensed real estate salesperson. At the height of the Great Recession, Mrs. Laughlin left real estate to follow her true passion: law.
During law school, Mrs. Laughlin was at the top of her class, graduating cum laude. She was also honored with the highest available distinction for her pro bono service to the State of Georgia. During law school, Mrs. Laughlin volunteered her time to the Honorable Judge Wendy Shoob in the Fulton County Superior Court, as well as to former Chief Judge, the Honorable Yvette Miller, and current Chief Judge, the Honorable Stephen Dillard, both of the Georgia Court of Appeals. This experience equipped Mrs. Laughlin with an unparalleled understanding of the inner workings of the state trial and appellate court systems.
Attorney Danielle Hudson Laughlin was also an Associate Editor for Legislation on the Georgia State Law Review and was published in 2011 for her work covering then-current Senate Bill 308, which is published at 27 Ga. St. U.L. Rev. 131 (2011). Additionally, Mrs. Laughlin's student note was selected as the Law Review's Honorable Mention, barely missing formal publication in 2011. She was also a member of the Student Trial Lawyer's Association and competed in local, state, and national mock trial competitions where she honed her skills as a trial advocate. During law school, Mrs. Laughlin served as Secretary, Vice President, and ultimately, President, of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy, during which time she showed an unwavering dedication to public policy and free market principles. She was a founding member of the Be Your Own Boss student organization, blogger for the College of Law Student Newspaper, and was a pupil on the Bleckley Inn of Court, a prestigious designation reserved for law students specifically selected by the deans and staff of the College of Law.
Although Mrs. Laughlin was a single mother raising a child under the age of 4 during her tenure at Georgia State University College of Law, that never stopped her from serving others. It is this same tenacity, dedication, and fearlessness that she continues to pour into her clients as a licensed attorney. Her commitment to serving others continues to earn her recognition among the community and her peers as a zealous advocate committed to ethical and aggressive legal representation.
Prior to starting Hudson Legal, Mrs. Laughlin practiced bankruptcy and creditors’ rights law at a mid-sized law firm with locations in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi. She represented national banks, and other creditors, and was responsible for the contested cases in Georgia. During the early years of Hudson Legal, Mrs. Laughlin continued her creditor rights work as Of Counsel to a Florida based law firm, managing its entire portfolio for the State of Georgia. This experience, combined with her knowledge of commercial and industrial real estate, gives her an edge in the consumer marketplace as an attorney who has worked on "both sides" of the aisle. Whether it is representing a property owner, consumer, or a business, Mrs. Laughlin knows both the court system and the business world. She takes a practical and pragmatic approach to practicing law, and brings all of this experience to each and every client matter she engages.
She is admitted to practice in the lower courts of Georgia, and the federal district courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Georgia. Mrs. Laughlin is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Gwinnett County Bar Association, Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, and the Northeast Atlanta Lawyers Referral Forum. She is also the creator and administrator of the GSU College of Law Referral Group where she helps connect attorneys to clients in need, and gives and receives encouraging advice to/from other attorneys.
In her spare time, Mrs. Laughlin enjoys painting, reading, golf, hiking, and traveling with her family. She is married to an accomplished software engineer, Tom, who works in healthcare technology and is himself committed to bettering our world by bringing innovation to the American healthcare system. Together, they have three beautiful children and a very sweet, albeit mischievous, chocolate lab. Mr. and Mrs. Laughlin are proud members of Gateway Church in Suwanee, Georgia.
